3 years agoHouston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman will not be in Tuesday's lineup against the host Los Angeles Angels. Astros skipper Dusty Baker told the media Bregman is getting the night off to keep him healthy as Houston aims to make a deep playoff run this October. Following an injury-shortened August, the 27-year-old infielder has been red-hot at the plate, hitting .328/.389/.500 with three home runs, 16 RBI and 10 runs scored on 21 hits. Utility infielder Aledmys Diaz will fill in at third base and bat sixth in Bregman's absence on Tuesday. Diaz is hitting .271/.331/.417 on the season with seven home runs, 41 RBI and 27 runs scored on 72 hits.--Chelena Goldman
