3 years agoUpdating an earlier report, Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (quad) has joined Triple-A Sugar Land and will begin his rehab assignment on Monday, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. This is great news for managers, as Bregman has been sidelined for nearly a month and a half now with a strained quadriceps and there had been several false alarms about how close he was to a rehab assignment. Over 59 games this season, he's hitting .275 with a .787 OPS, seven homers, 34 RBI and 37 runs scored. There's no set return date for Bregman just yet, but barring any setbacks it should be before mid-August.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
