4 years agoHouston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is nearing a return to the active roster after doing fielding and running drills Wednesday and getting swings in Thursday. The Astros hit the road for their next 11 games, so Bregman will travel with the team ahead of his activation. He has been on the injured list since Aug. 20 due to discomfort in his right hamstring, which has paved the way for Abraham Toro and Aledmys Diaz to see increased roles. Bregman ranks second on the team among regulars with a 132 OPS+ through his first 24 games and should be rostered in all formats immediately upon his activation.--Jesse Borek
