6 years agoHouston Astros infielder Alex Bregman was named the American League Player of the Week on Monday. Bregman went 13-for-28 (.464) last week with five home runs and 10 runs batted in. In fact, 10 of his 13 hits last week went for extra bases. The 24-year-old's monster week at the plate now has him slashing .277/.379/.517 on the season with eight stolen bases, 16 home runs, 27 doubles, 52 runs scored and 53 runs batted in. After slugging only .381 in the month of April, Bregman is coming off a month of June where he posted a slugging percentage of .713. With a breakout season in the second half of last year under his belt, Bregman is proving to be bonafide star, and the sky is the limit in terms of his fantasy potential moving forward as player with power and speed.--Joey C - RotoBaller
