Alex Cobb Again Victimized By Bad Defense
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Cobb deserved better than the results he got against the New York Mets Monday night. He was charged with six runs on ten hits in six innings, but he could have easily escaped his disastrous third inning if not for two infield hits and a misplayed fly ball to left field. Cobb did strike out seven batters, giving him 39 in 31 2/3 innings across seven starts. A 6.25 ERA and 1.55 WHIP look dreadful on paper, but with an xFIP of 2.33, he could be one of the major buy-lows at this point in the season.
