2 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Cobb (neck) has been placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 4. He was scratched during his last scheduled start on Friday versus the Miami Marlins. The veteran right-hander will get an extended break to recover from a neck strain. He has a rough 5.73 ERA this season, so possibly a break could help Cobb. In a corresponding move, left-hander Sammy Long has been recalled from the minors.
