Alex Collins Reaches End Zone Yet Again
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins was held to 18 rushing yards and a touchdown on seven carries in a 24-21 win over the Bengals. Collins, as usual, started the game but he got most of his work out of the way on the Ravens' opening possession. On his third carry of the series, after taking a handoff from quarterback Lamar Jackson on second-and-goal from the Bengals' seven-yard line, the 24-year-old bounced outside, reaching paydirt just before getting nailed by a Cincinnati defender. The touchdown run was his longest run of the game. Collins finished the opening drive with nine yards on three attempts. The former fifth-round draft pick has now reached the end zone five times in the team's last five games. However, the workload and yardage totals were the former Arkansas Razorback's lowest since Week 1. With rookie Gus Edwards tallying 115 yards on the ground as well as one touchdown, it appears Collins may have limited future opportunities running the ball. Regardless of the exact role, Collins should be kept out of fantasy lineups moving forward.
