3 years agoColorado Rockies pitcher Alex Colome allowed one hit over a scoreless inning to earn the save during Thursday's 4-2 win over the San Francisco Giants. He entered the ninth inning to protect a two-run lead. The 33-year-old tossed a scoreless inning to earn his third save of the season. Colorado's primary closer Daniel Bard was unavailable after pitching in previous back-to-back games. The right-hander hasn't allowed a run over his last 11 1/3 innings and owns a 2.53 ERA across 21 1/3 innings in 2022. Colome is a perfect 3-for-3 in save opportunities, but with the lack of save chances, he is mainly an option in deep-league formats.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
