4 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Alex Colome closed out his team's first win of the 2021 season in a 2-0 victory over the Brewers. Manager Rocco Baldelli went back to Colome in the ninth after the latter blew the save on Opening Day- and Colome rewarded his manager's faith with a scoreless inning for his first save of the season. It's his 43rd converted save out of 48 attempts since the start of 2019. As hard as it was to stomach Colome blowing the save on Thursday, it was equally encouraging to see Baldelli go right back to him. The veteran likely won't get all the ninth-inning gigs for the Twins this year, but double-digit saves are certainly within reach on a team with postseason aspirations.--Tim Capurso
