Alex DeBrincat Snaps Seven-Game Goalless Drought
6 years agoChicago Blackhawks right wing Alex DeBrincat scored for the first time since Oct. 25 during a 3-2 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night. DeBrincat was recently demoted to the third line as the Blackhawks have been on a massive losing streak. The 20-year-old is an offensive talent with nine goals and seven assists through his first 18 games. With that in mind, he only has two points in his past eight contests. The inconsistency is part of the learning process, but the coaching staff is doing him no favors by playing him in a lesser role. DeBrincat has the talent to be an elite scorer in the league and fantasy managers should not give up on him. If anything, it might be a good time to buy low on the former OHL scoring champion.
