4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Alex Kirilloff launched the first two home runs of his career on Friday night, finishing 2-for-4 with a walk, four RBI and two runs scored in a 9-1 win over the Royals. After opening his debut season by going 0-for-14, Kirilloff now has a four-game hitting streak in which he is slashing .313/.353/.750 with two home runs, five RBI and three runs scored. This looks like it could be the beginning of an upward trend for Kirilloff, as his Statcast metrics suggest he's been somewhat unlucky at the plate so far. He currently owns a 15 percent barrel rate and 45.8 percent sweet-spot rate, and his .380 xBA and .921 xSLG suggest he should be putting up better numbers than he has. If this is the beginning of an offensive surge for Kirilloff, managers should make sure to scoop him off the waiver-wire quickly, as he is still available in about 70 percent of leagues.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
