6 years agoLos Angeles Angels pitcher Alex Meyer (shoulder) recently had a setback in his rehab, according to general manager Billy Eppler. He received a cortisone shot and is expected to resume throwing in a few days. Meyer has missed the entire 2018 season, and was never expected to return this year. He is expected to be ready for spring training, although the Angels will need to decide if he is worth a 40-man roster spot. Considering their struggles in the starting rotation, and Meyer's 3.74 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 67.2 innings last season, it seems likely he will compete for a spot next year.--patton
