5 years agoWashington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin scored his 24th career regular-season hat trick during a four-point performance in Saturday's 5-2 win over Detroit. T.J. Oshie and Tom Wilson also scored for Washington, Evgeny Kuznetsov collected three assists. The Great Eight became the second player this season to reach the 20-goal plateau after David Pastrnak. He's on pace to produce another 50-goal year and he's set to become the eighth player in league history to get 700 career goals.
