Alex Ramirez Enjoys Big Week At Single-A
3 years agoNew York Mets outfield prospect Alex Ramirez has impressed against a strong group of competition. Currently playing in just his second pro season, the outfielder has above-average speed and should stick in center field, but if he can't, he'll have no trouble succeeding in right field thanks to his strong arm. Ramirez has also demonstrated an above-average hit tool, and he's a streak of homers away from being a legitimate five-tool player. Born in 2003, Ramirez excelled at the Single-A level this past week. He went 15-for-28 with five extra-base hits and five RBI. Although there is still quite a long time before he reaches the majors, Ramirez's well-roundedness makes him a potential fantasy star someday. He's currently listed sixth among MLB Pipeline's Mets prospects, three years removed from signing a $2 million international deal.
