6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Alex Reyes (elbow) pitched in an intrasquad game on Sunday. It was the first game-like action for Reyes, who is returning from Tommy John Surgery. He's been throwing live batting practice for a few weeks now, but this was his first time back on a mound in a somewhat competitive sense, even if it was against his own teammates. Reyes is expected to be ready around May 1 if he doesn't experience any setbacks, but he could be back sooner than that if St. Louis decides to use him out of the bullpen at first.
