4 years agoWashington Football Team quarterback Alex Smith (leg) left the team's game Sunday against the 49ers and did not return. Dwayne Haskins Jr replaced Smith at quarterback. Head coach Ron Rivera said after the game Smith was available to come back into the game "In case of emergency," but they opted to be cautious given Smith's injury history. Prior to leaving the game, Smith was 8-for-19 passing for 57 yards and an interception. Rivera said the team would see how Smith progresses in practice this week before committing to a starter next week against the Seahawks.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
