3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo (paternity leave) is back in the lineup batting second on Friday against Spenser Watkins and the visiting Baltimore Orioles. The 25-year-old lefty missed games earlier in the week due to being on paternity leave. Prior to that, he went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Verdugo is heating up down the stretch for Boston, slashing .400/.429/.680 with one homer, two RBI, and three runs scored on 10 hits over his last seven games.--Chelena Goldman
