3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo was the offensive standout Sunday, doubling twice in a tight 1-0 win over the Oakland Athletics. Verdugo went 2-for-3 with a walk and scored the game's only run. Entering Sunday's game, Verdugo had only collected eight extra-base hits since the start of June, so fantasy managers have to be encouraged by this performance. He's been a solid contributor across the board, but his upside is severely limited if he isn't going to drive the ball. There's little choice but to keep him active and hope this is the beginning of a better stretch for the outfielder.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
