3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo was the clear hero of the nightcap against the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run off starting pitcher Jose Berrios. It was Verdugo's 11th homer of the year. After being dropped to the order earlier in the season, Verdugo has really turned it on of late, posting multiple hits in four of his last five games. He has a .400/.429/.680 slash line in his last seven. It's possible Verdugo has fallen to the waiver wire in some leagues with impatient fantasy managers, and if that's the case he should be snapped up immediately.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
