3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo had an eventful Saturday night at Yankee Stadium, and unfortunately his fifth stolen base of the year was not the main event. Verdugo had said prior to the game that his legs were feeling better, and he proved it by swiping his first base since June 1. He also singled in three at-bats. Later on in the evening, a fan threw a ball into the playing area, striking Verdugo in the back and causing the entire Red Sox team to be pulled from the field. The incident should have no effect on Verdugo's play going forward, but any increased stolen bases would do wonders for his fantasy value.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
