2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo went 4-for-6 at the dish on Thursday night to help pace the offense to a 16-7 win over the White Sox. He swatted a pair of run-scoring doubles in the first and fifth inning, and later added an RBI single to give him three RBI and two runs scored on the evening. Verdugo has had a sluggish start to the 2022 campaign, but he's picked it up at the plate recently by going 9-for-19 over his last five games to give him a .232 BA for the year. His counting categories leave a little more to be desired as well with three homers, 21 RBI, and 16 runs through 41 games, but hopefully his recent surge gives him a lasting spark.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
