Alex Wilson Will Remain In The Bullpen
7 years agoDetroit Tigers reliever Alex Wilson expressed interest in and ultimately auditioned for a role in the starting rotation heading into the upcoming regular season, but he will instead pitch in relief. He pitched three innings on Friday and actually threw the ball quite well, retiring the first seven batters he faced before allowing a walk and a two-run homer in the sixth inning. Wilson remains a solid holds candidate who will likely throw plenty of innings out of the Tigers 'pen. He struggled last season with a 4.50 ERA but turned in two straight years of sub-3.00 ERA pitching across 70 or more innings in each of the two season prior.
