7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starter Alex Wood continued his troubling start to the 2018 season on Wednesday by getting shellacked by the Athletics. Wood gave up seven earned runs on seven hits in just 3 2/3 innings. He did manage to strike out five and walk none. In his first two starts over 14 innings, Wood had only given up three runs on seven hits while striking out 10 and walking none. The most concerning trend is Wood's diminished velocity. His fastball rarely reached 90 mph and his knuckle-curves and changeups weren't fooling anybody. He'll face an easier lineup in San Diego next Tuesday, but owners may want to pull on the rip cord before Wood is devoid of any fantasy value.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
