3 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Wood struck out nine Oakland Athletics Friday night, but it wasn't enough to lead the team to victory. Wood allowed two runs on five hits and two walks in five innings in a 4-1 loss. His record drops to 10-4 on the season. Despite a decent overall campaign, with a 4.11 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 130 strikeouts in 120 1/3 innings this season, Wood has just one quality start in his last seven turns through the rotation, and fantasy managers should be able to find more reliable options.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
