4 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Wood will undergo an ablation procedure on his spine, according to Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic. Wood has missed time this spring with what was described as back tightness, and Baggarly reports that manager Gabe Kapler said the procedure won't necessarily mean he misses starting the season in the rotation. Wood posted a 23.1 percent strikeout rate in 2020, although he struggled with a 6.39 ERA and 1.82 WHIP. Whenever he is healthy and pitching again, he is at best a matchup-dependent streaming option in deeper or NL-only formats.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
