Alex Wood Turns In Mediocre Start Tuesday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Wood turned in a middling performance in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Rangers. Wood pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on five hits (including a solo home run) and three walks with two strikeouts. The 30-year-old has been solid for the Giants and fantasy managers overall this season, but his June has gotten off to a rocky start. He has allowed 11 runs in his first two June starts and has pitched just nine total innings. He deserves some leeway given how well he started the season and will look to rebound in his next start at the Nationals.
