Alexander Gustafsson Coming Out Of Retirement
4 years agoAlexander Gustafsson has reportedly decided to come out of retirement to fight veteran Fabricio Werdum in July on the organization's infamous "Fight Island." The 33-year-old, who will make the bump up to Heavyweight, is coming off two-straight losses in the Light Heavyweight division, with his last defeat coming at the hands of Anthony Smith back in June of 2019. Werdum has still been active despite his advanced MMA age but has been equally unimpressive, losing his previous fight to "The Boa Constrictor" Aleksei Oleinik via a split decision just a few months ago at UFC 249. With a return to the 265-pound class, Gustafsson will undoubtedly look for another title opportunity somewhere down the line. At the same time, Werdum could find himself fighting for the last time in the organization if he loses another one.
