3 years agoMinnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison's fantasy outlook remains contingent on the status of Dalvin Cook (ankle) heading into Week 5. Cook remains a game-time call against the Lions. However, if he doesn't play, Mattison will automatically be an attractive fantasy target in nearly every format, including DFS contests. While filling in the Cook in Week 3 against the Seahawks, Mattison had 26 carries for 112 yards. He didn't score a touchdown in that one, but it was still a solid outing, nonetheless. The 23-year-old also got some touches in Week 4 during the loss to the Browns. As a result, even if Mattison has to share time in the backfield, he should remain on the fantasy radar, but mainly as a risky flex option in deeper leagues. Nevertheless, managers should monitor things heading toward Sunday's matchup against Detroit and take things from there. If Cook is out, Mattison's stock will skyrocket.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
