Alfred Blue Continues Struggles Against 49ers
6 years agoHouston Texans running back Alfred Blue hasn't had a great preseason. After the veteran Texan gained 14 yards on eight carries against the Chiefs, he responded by gaining 17 yards on seven carries against the 49ers on Saturday. While Blue did up his yards per carry from 1.8 against Kansas City to 2.4 against San Francisco, he remains a one-dimensional back who struggles to do more than be a "three yards and a cloud of dust"-type of player. When D'Onta Foreman returns from his Achilles injury, don't be surprised to see Blue glued to the team's bench, but head coach Bill O'Brien does trust Blue, so it's not out of the question that he winds up heavily involved in Houston's offense if injuries strike the team's other running backs.
