4 years agoIn one of the wildest finishes in UFC championship history, Aljamain Sterling (20-3) walked out of the Octagon as the new UFC bantamweight champion, but not in the way he probably envisioned. Down on two of the three judges' scorecards in the fourth round, Sterling took an illegal knee to the head from Petr Yan. Unable to continue and the referee ruling the shot intentional, Yan was disqualified, thus crowning Sterling the new champion. Sterling did connect on many shots, landing 97 significant strikes (119 total strikes) but only landed one of his 17 attempted takedown tries. It looks like a rematch will be in order due to the ending of this fight.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
