Amari Cooper Looking To Continue Success In Week 3
6 years agoOakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper put on a gutty performance in a Week 2 loss at Denver. Just six days after being reduced to a non-factor in Week 1, Cooper hauled in all 10 of his targets for 116 yards against the Broncos. Perhaps the Week 1 results were more the consequence of a negative game script than anything else, but it was encouraging nonetheless to see such an uptick in his volume in Week 2. Cooper's opponent in Week 3 is a Dolphins defense that has yet to allow a wide receiver to get into the endzone this season. Cooper and quarterback Derek Carr represent a greater aerial threat than Miami's first two opponents (Titans, Jets), so this early trend may be due to go by the wayside. Oakland's offense was significantly more effective with Cooper heavily involved in Week 2, so look for him to be a focal point once again at Miami.
