7 years agoAfter sitting out Tuesday’s win over the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario is back in the lineup for Wednesday’s matinee. There was never much thought that Rosario had any sort of injury. It seemed as though the move was made simply to get infielder Jose Reyes some playing time. Rosario will be hitting in the nine-hole behind starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard, a spot manager Mickey Callaway likes for Rosario, as he’ll see more pitches to hit and have a better chance of developing in that position rather than hitting in front of the pitcher. In 13 plate appearances this year, Rosario is currently slashing .250/.308/.250 with two runs scored and three RBI, but he did go 2-for-4 with both runs scored and two RBI hitting behind Syndergaard on Opening Day.--John Smith
