Amed Rosario Comes Up Big On Opening Day
7 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario, a former top prospect, has something to prove in 2018 after a somewhat lackluster MLB debut last summer. With one game in the books, Rosario showed why scouts thought so highly of him. He finished 2-for-4 with two RBI in the Amazins 9-4 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, coming up with arguably the biggest hit of the game. Up a run with two runners on in the bottom of the fifth inning, Rosario singled home first baseman Adrian Gonzalez and catcher Kevin Plawecki to extend the Mets lead to three. Of course, Rosario barely demonstrated plate patience and still swung at everything, but that’s just the kind of player he is at his young age. He won’t be an everyday fantasy option until he proves otherwise, but it’s a great start for Rosario.
