Amir Garrett Picks Up Save On Monday
4 years agoCincinnati Reds closer Amir Garrett got the final three outs of a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates to earn his first save of the season on Monday. It wasn't all smooth sailing for Garrett as he allowed two hits including a solo homer and walked a batter in the frame. That goes in the books as the veteran southpaw's first appearance in the 2021 season. There's a chance that the Reds occasionally turn to Lucas Sims or Sean Doolittle in save chances but it appears that Garrett will be the team's primary closer, as long as he can hold onto the job.
