Amir Garrett Picks Up Third Save
3 years agoCincinnati Reds left-hander Amir Garrett got the final out of a 2-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday to earn his third save of the season. He struck out the only batter he faced to secure the win in the 10-inning game. Garrett opened the season as the team's preferred closer but struggled out of the gate, opening the door for Lucas Sims and Tejay Antone to grab most of the save chances. Sims pitched in the ninth inning on Tuesday and Antone is currently on the injured list, which led to Garrett getting to call to slam the door. It remains to be seen whether he will start pitching in more high-leverage innings going forward. Garrett now has an 8.38 ERA on the year.
