Amir Garrett Strikes Out The Side
4 years agoCincinnati Reds left-hander Amir Garrett looked dominant in a Cactus League appearance against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. Garrett threw a scoreless sixth inning, striking out the side in the frame, the second straight outing where the big lefty has gotten all three outs via the strikeout. Garrett missed the early part of Cactus League play while healing from a strained forearm but he is on track for the regular season now. He is locked in a battle for the closer role with Sean Doolittle and Lucas Sims, who made his Cactus League debut on Tuesday. It is possible that manager David Bell opts for a ninth-inning committee to open the season, giving all three players varying levels of relevance in fantasy.
