6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes right wing Andrei Svechnikov registered two goals with an assist and a plus-three rating with a blocked shot and four hits in Monday's 3-0 road win against the Colorado Avalanche. The rookie credited taping his stick in a different fashion on the advice from veteran defenseman Dougie Hamilton. "He changed it up and there you go. What can I say?" Hamilton said. "We hung out yesterday so we'll have to do that more." The three-point game matched a career best, as he also has three points in Edmonton on Jan. 20.--Daniel Dobish
