5 years agoCarolina Hurricanes right wing Andrei Svechnikov ended a five-game pointless streak with a pair of goals in Saturday's 4-0 win over Chicago. Nino Niederreiter had a goal and an assist, while Eric Staal scored as well for Carolina. Svechnikov made a superb start to the season, posting four multi-point games in his first five appearances before cooling down. He had a really tough time on Thursday, finishing a 4-3 loss to Columbus with a minus-three rating. His performance on Saturday should give the 19-year-old Russian a nice confidence boost. He now has three goals and 10 points in 11 games this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
