Andrelton Simmons Dealing With Shoulder Soreness
3 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Andrelton Simmons (shoulder) is "dealing with right shoulder soreness," according to The Chicago Tribune's Meghan Montemurro. Also per Montemurro, the shortstop's "progress has been slowed since he reported to camp." Simmons joined the Cubs as a free agent after spending last season with the Minnesota Twins. The veteran hit .223 with a .283 on-base percentage, three home runs and a stolen base in 451 plate appearances with Minnesota. Simmons looks set to split time with Nico Hoerner at shortstop this season for Chicago. He's probably only an option for fantasy managers in deeper leagues as a defense-first player.
