4 years agoLos Angeles Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons will miss at least the team’s next three games, manager Joe Maddon confirmed Friday. Simmons has been absent from the Angels’ lineup since July 27 due to an ankle injury, and while a return seemed possible this weekend against the Dodgers, he will have to wait until Monday against the Giants at the earliest. Simmons only produced a .673 OPS last season, as his defensive contributions far outweigh his offensive production at this stage. Unless he catches fire, he is only a deep league option upon his return in 2020.--Jesse Borek
