4 years agoLos Angeles Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons returned Friday with a two-hit outing, but is back on the bench Saturday against Oakland and right-hander Chris Bassitt. Manager Joe Maddon has reiterated that the team will play it safe with Simmons, attempting to not ramp up his activities too quickly. David Fletcher will take back over at short and bat leadoff as the Angels’ daily lineup shuffle continues. Simmons’ next chance to take the field comes Sunday against the A’s and Frankie Montas, a difficult matchup which will limit his DFS appeal.--Jesse Borek
