4 years agoNew York Mets infielder Andres Gimenez (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list following his departure from Game 1 of the club’s doubleheader Saturday versus Washington due to a tight right oblique. The roster move ends Gimenez’s rookie season, in which he took over full-time shortstop duties for an extended stretch due to his solid play. Having swiped eight bases in addition to posting a .333 on-base percentage across 48 games, Gimenez will have some season-long appeal heading into 2021 drafts.--Jesse Borek
