4 years agoNew York Mets infielder Andres Gimenez hit his first career home run, a two-run shot, in the Mets' 9-5 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. Gimenez went 1-for-4 in the contest with the homer being his only hit. Before going on the injured list for an undisclosed reason, Gimenez had been struggling at the plate going just 3-for-18 after a hot start to his season. Since returning from the IL last Friday, Gimenez has been relegated to a part-time role, starting in just two games for the Mets, no doubt in-part due to Robinson Cano's and Luis Guillorme's hot bats. On the season, Gimenez is batting .258 with one home run, four RBI, and six stolen bases in 66 at-bats. While the initial shine to Gimenez has worn off in redraft leagues, managers may want to continue to roster Gimenez in the event the Mets suffer an injury to Cano, Jeff McNeil or Amed Rosario, given his positional versatility. Gimenez is, however, a strong hold or buy-low option in dynasty formats given his potential future upside for 2021 and beyond.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
