Andrew Benintendi Finds The Stands Friday
6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi hit his first long ball of the season Friday in a 6-4 win over Baltimore. He finished with two hits, while his homer provided his only run scored and run batted in. The 24-year-old was due for fireworks at the early point in the season, but maybe this win can help spark the 5-9 Red Sox. He heads into the weekend batting .278 with one home run and six RBI. In the next three games with the Orioles, Benintendi gets two juicy matchups with right-handers Andrew Cashner and Dan Straily before hitting the road to face the Yankees. He'll look to continue providing that spark at the top of a Red Sox lineup that is a sleeping giant.
