Andrew Benintendi Goes 3-for-3 On Monday
3 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi had a perfect day at the plate in Monday's 10-7 defeat to the Cleveland Guardians, recording three hits, including a home run, two runs, and three RBI in three at-bats, while walking twice. He's now slashing .538/.625/.769 with a home run over his first four games. Benintendi's plate discipline has been excellent as well, as he's walked three times and struck out only once in 13 at-bats. The former Golden Spikes Award winner is looking to build on his solid 2021 season when he hit .276 with 17 HRs, eight stolen bases, 73 RBI, and 63 runs. Benintendi's ability to run and hit for power is enticing, and so is manager Mike Matheny's inclination to bat him third in the lineup. Fantasy managers who drafted the 26-year-old have themselves an all-around contributor.
