Andrew Benintendi Swipes Fourth Bag In Five Days
5 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi picked up his seventh steal of the season in Monday's win over Cleveland. The stolen base marked his fourth in five days. Mainly acting as Boston's leadoff hitter, the 24-year-old has done a solid job getting on base, with a .354 on-base percentage and 12 BB%. However, 23 K% is bringing down his batting average to .256. His BABIP is at .324, so if he can begin limiting his strikeout totals, his other numbers should see an increase. Benintendi hasn't hit a home run since May 10 and has just two runs and two RBI since May 17. If Boston wants to continue to make a push for the AL East, they'll need more production from their table setter. Boston will face two Indians' righties, Zach Plesac and Shane Bieber, on Tuesday and Wednesday before squaring off with the Yankees over the weekend.
