Andrew Chafin Traded To A's
3 years agoThe Oakland Athletics have traded for relief pitcher Andrew Chafin and cash from the Chicago Cubs. Minor leaguers Greg Deichmann and Daniel Palencia will head back to the Cubs in the deal. Chafin represents a needed boost to the A's bullpen as he's got a 2.06 ERA, a 0.84 WHIP, and has 17 holds this season. He doesn't have much fantasy appeal as he averages less than a strikeout-per-inning and he won't get saves with Lou Trivino and Jake Diekman already representing a formidable righty/lefty combo in the late innings for Oakland. Chafin is a good lefty addition to the A's bullpen, but not someone to prioritize in most fantasy leagues unless holds are rewarded.
