Andrew Heaney Rebounds Nicely In Second Start
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Andrew Heaney went six solid innings against the Blue Jays on Friday in the Angels' 7-1 victory. Heaney, who lasted just three innings in his first start of the season against the White Sox, allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out nine in his impressive quality start on Friday. Heaney picked up the win to even his record at 1-1 on the young season. Heading into 2021, Heaney was on a number of sleeper lists given his pitching velocities and underlying numbers which suggested positive regression, including xFIP and SIERA. Managers looking for help at SP should pick up Heaney in leagues where he may have been cut by impatient managers after his first, mediocre start. The 29-year old could be a potential 2021 breakout candidate if he can remain healthy and avoid the injury bug that has plagued him in the past.
