5 years agoOn Saturday, the Los Angeles Angels placed starter Andrew Heaney on the IL with left shoulder inflammation, with no current timetable for his return. The 28-year old left-hander said he first felt discomfort during his start against Houston on July 6 but hoped to pitch through it, pitching again against Houston last Tuesday, throwing 103 pitches over 4 1/3 innings and giving up two earned runs. But the pain continued and the decision was made to put Heaney on the IL for the second time this season. The good news was that an MRI showed just inflammation with no structural damage and more about Heaney's return should be known in the coming week.--Nicklaus Gaut - RotoBaller
