3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Andrew McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a loss to the Rays on Wednesday. McCutchen badly needed this game as the veteran outfielder had been slumping mightily since the calendar flipped to August. This was McCutchen's first multi-hit game since July 29 as he had just four hits in his previous 46 at-bats coming into Wednesday. In August, McCutchen's usually excellent walk rate plummeted to just 4.3 percent while his strikeout rate skyrocketed to 37 percent, easily the worst strikeout rate in any month this season for 'Cutch. He's got fantasy value when he's going well, but right now it's hard to trust McCutchen in fantasy lineups.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
